Q. When is FUEL – the Man in the Mirror Annual Summit?
A. FUEL begins on Thursday, February 9th at 5:30 PM with a reception hour followed by a three-course dinner at 6:30 p.m. It will conclude on Saturday, February 11th at noon. Return flights for out-of-towners should be scheduled for 3:00 PM or later on Saturday.
Q. Where is FUEL going to be held?
A. At the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort in the Walt Disney World Resort® , Orlando. The hotel is located at 1850 Hotel Plaza Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32801.
Q. How much does it cost to attend FUEL and what are my conference options?
- Regular rate from January 14, 2012 – February 8, 2012: $259
- Thursday Only: $89
- Friday Only: $129
- Thursday/Friday Only: $199
A $25 discount can be applied when you register if you are a full-time pastor or ministry leader, a denominational partner, a Monthly Partner, a President’s Circle partner, a field trainer, an alumni of one of the previous annual summits, a member of NCMM, a member of DMMNNA, a member of C&MA, and for spouses and sons. The $25 discount does not apply to the options for Thursday only, Friday only and Thursday/Friday only.
There is an option to attend the No Man Left Behind national leadership training in conjunction with FUEL as well as some dining options for Friday evening.
Q. What is the cancellation policy?
A. Conference Cancellation Policy: You can cancel without penalty up until January 1, 20121. From January 2, 2012 – January 13, 2012 a 50% refund is available. There are no refunds after January 13th, 2012 due to meal/other commitments.
Wyndham Hotel Cancellation Policy: To cancel your room reservation at the Wyndham, you must cancel 72 hours prior to the start of your stay. Contact the Wyndham directly at (877) 999-3223.
Q. How can I register for the FUEL?
A. Click on the Register tab to register for the conference, get a hotel reservation, select FUEL add-on options or arrange for your transportation.
Q. Where should I stay?
A. Man in the Mirror negotiated special rates at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort for our guests in 2012:
- $99 (tax exempt) is for a Lakeview room. These are exterior rooms with a view of Lake Buena Vista.
- $119 (tax exempt) is for a slightly larger, interior room overlooking Downtown Disney (request a higher floor facing Downtown Disney).
Note: The above rates are available 3 days prior to and after the Summit and are subject to first come/first served. If the block of rooms reserved for Man in the Mirror is sold out, then the rates will still be honored IF there are rooms still available for your reservation time period. Hotel reservations must be made by January 20th.
Q. How does the tax exemption apply to the hotel room charge?
A. Man in the Mirror will secure your credit card during the registration process. At the conclusion of the event, the Wyndham will directly bill Man in the Mirror for your room. Man in the Mirror will in turn, process the hotel room charges to your credit card at the tax exempt rate. The hotel will also ask you for your credit card when you initially call to reserve your room as well as when you check in (to cover any incidentals). Unfortunately, the Wyndham is unable to suppress taxes and fees on their website, so please disregard those amounts.
Q. Will I be able to attend the Bible Study at the Winter Park Civic Center on Friday morning?
A. FUEL guests are strongly encouraged to attend the Bible Study. The Bible Study begins at 6:50 a.m. and adjourns promptly at 8:00 a.m. A charter bus will provide complimentary transportation from the Wyndham Resort to the Civic Center and back. You can register for this transportation when you register for FUEL. It’s free…go for it!

Dinner is on your own but consider yourself invited to attend the Founder’s Dinner or the Men’s Night Out Dinner – both held in a private or semi-private dining rooms. Limited space and reservations are on a first come/first served basis. You can register for either of these when you register for FUEL.

Q. What amenities are included at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort?

Q. What about transportation?
A. The Wyndham Resort has an on-site car rental service. The Resort is 17 miles from the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Mears has a shuttle service for around $35 round trip at http://www.mearstransportation.com/. Just enter your arrival date, # of people and select the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. One-way tickets are also available. If you drive, there is a daily parking fee of $8 at the resort.
Man in the Mirror will provide complimentary round-trip bus service from the resort to the Winter Park Civic Center on Friday, February 10th for the Weekly Bible Study with Dr. Pat Morley.
Q. What’s the weather like there in February?
A. The average high is around 73º. This is the “dry season” so the chance of rain is very slight. Bring a jacket or sweater for the evening hours.
Q. Will I be able to request a roommate to share expenses with?
A. Of course! Just send an email to ruthcameron@maninthemirror.org and she’ll do her best to accomodate your request and keep you informed.
Q. What is the add-on option about No Man Left Behind national training conference?
A. This is our premier training on building a ministry for the men in your church that is effective, sustainable and relevant. We’ve conducted this training for thousands of pastors and leaders from all over the world. It works!
There is a special add-on rate of $149 to attend this leadership training in conjunction with FUEL. You’ll need to arrive Wednesday afternoon, February 8th in time to grab some dinner (on your own) before the training begins at 6:30 p.m. The training will continue all day Thursday and will adjourn in time for you to attend FUEL’s opening reception at 5:30 p.m. and dinner/program at 6:30 p.m. The training will conclude in conjunction with the closing of the Annual Summit on Saturday at noon. Don’t forget to take care of your lodging for Wednesday evening, February 8th.

Q. What are the dinner options (add-on) for Friday, February 10th?
A. You’re own your own for dinner on Friday. Downtown Disney® has a great selection of restaurants choose from – walking distance from the Wyndham.
OR
Select the Founder’s Dinner. This is an intimate and exclusive dining experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House with founder and CEO Pat Morley and David Delk, president of Man in the Mirror. The dinner is in a private dining room and entrée selections include fresh fish, chicken, vegetarian and of course, juicy, sizzling steaks! The cost is $109 per person. It is limited space so reservations are on a first come/first served basis. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. You’ll need transportation to the restaurant located about 15 minutes of drive time from the Wyndham.
OR
Select the Men’s Night Out Dinner. This is a fun, laid-back outing with some staffers from Man in the Mirror and some guys just like you. You’ll be able to select from a dozen or so entrées at Benihana’s – walking distance from the Wyndham. The cost is $32 per person. It is limited space so reservations are on a first come/first served basis. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Your dinner selection will be made when you arrive at the Wyndham and register for FUEL.
